JOB POSTING 100210-01: ROUTE DELIVERY DRIVER
Royal Beverages is a Licensed Florida Distributor of alcoholic beverages. We are seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Route Delivery Driver. Please do not call in response to this posting. We will contact applicants we deem qualified for an interview in a timely manner.
OVERVIEW
The Route Delivery Driver is responsible for a variety of tasks surrounding the delivery of orders to Retailers throughout the State of Florida.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment prior to commencing route.
- Partner with routers to acquire delivery schedule and communicate delays, arrivals, and/or equipment problems as encountered.
- Drive established route to deliver beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic products to bars, restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, package and specialty stores.
- Proper loading and unloading of merchandise.
- Sort merchandise by invoice for delivery
- Properly stock and merchandise accounts. Specifically: to lift cases, stock, price, build displays and install POS as needed. Placement of product in designated storage areas. (Cold Box, Shelf, Back Room)
- Resolve customer concerns/complaints regarding spoilage, breakage, and or incorrect product being sent from warehouse.
- Maintain sales records through the use of a route book.
- Operate a hand held order entry computer.
- Responsible for invoicing and collecting company monies for delivered product.
- Check in payments and returned goods promptly
- Keep interior of truck organized and clean
- Attend regular sales meetings, seminars and product tastings.
- Comply with company safety standards, Department of Transportation regulations, Alcoholic Beverage Control regulations, and warehouse delivery policies/procedures.
- Comply with any direct order given by a supervisor or manager.
- Management retains the discretion to add or change duties to those assigned to this position.
- Work flexible hours, which include early morning (i.e. 4:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. start times), evenings, and/or weekends. Additional hours required during the peak season of October, November and December.
- Perform other work related duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have previous experience as a Beverage Delivery Driver
- Must be a Florida Resident
- Must have a Florida drivers license and a clean driving history
- Must have a dependable and reliable, transportation vehicle
- Must have proof of car insurance
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to acquire a Florida Alcohol Beverage License
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma
- Must have a minimum of two years of route delivery/driving experience
- Must possess a Class A/B Commercial Driver's License
- Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements and the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) guidelines
- Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator
- Strong communication skills both verbally and written and the ability to read, write, speak and understand English well. Language skills allow employee to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must maintain corporate dress code and grooming standards while working. Must maintain and adhere to company standards, policies, regulations and procedures. Must be able to represent company with a positive attitude

Ability to safely operate vehicle, pallet jack and hand truck .

Ability to pull, stand, walk, bend, squat, twist and lift up to 50 lbs repetitively. Must be able to make deliveries to accounts with stock rooms upstairs or downstairs

Ability to handle multi-tasks at the same time and complete them.

Provide high level of customer service to ensure accounts are satisfied with product and timeliness of deliveries

Competent to work independently on a daily basis with minimal supervision

- Experienced and competent in the operation of a delivery truck
COMPENSATION
This is an hourly position with overtime pay. Relocation expenses are not covered with this position.
